NBA Playoffs: Mavericks And Lakers Tied For The Second Seed.

The Dallas Mavericks, who were in danger of falling to the fourth seed, are now tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the second seed in the Western Conference.

The Lakers were outscored 32-16 in a fourth quarter collapse against the Oklahoma City Thunder in a game that had all the makings of a juicy playoff matchup. The Lakers still hold the tiebreaker against the Mavericks but,  the Mavericks have the easier schedule with a game against the Houston Rockets tonight before finishing the regular season off against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday.

The second seed looked out of reach for the Mavericks after a four game losing streak that culminated in a Jason Terry tirade in the first half of a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. But things look to be back on track after a second half comeback against the Clippers and a 115-90 drubbing of the Phoenix Suns

And now it's the Lakers' who are stumbling down the stretch. A five game losing steak has them needing a win against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night to secure the second seed in the West.

Of course, in order for anything to happen, the Mavericks have to take care of business by beating the Houston Rockets tonight.

The game starts at 7:30 CT and can be seen on FSSW locally and NBATV.
