2011 NBA Power Rankings: Mavericks Fall Another Spot

This week's SB Nation NBA power rankings are up, and the Mavericks have fallen one more spot to six.

6. Dallas Mavericks (47-19, Prev: #5) -- As it turns out, Shawn Marion -- not Sasha Pavlovic, not Peja Stojakovic, not Corey Brewer, not DeShawn Stevenson -- is the answer at small forward. Especially in the postseason as Rick Carlisle's rotation will shorten, Marion's the right answer there.

Unfortunately, the answer at small forward still isn't as simple as just plugging in Marion full time, but his good play certainly does provide more hope for the playoffs. Also, I don't think that anyone saw any of Peja, Brewer or Stevenson as THE answer at the three anyway. The best hope for that group was always to piecemeal both the two and three spots.

A big week from the Heat jumped them back in front of Dallas and into the three spot behind Chicago.
