The NBA has rescinded the technical foul Mavericks center Brendan Haywood picked up in last night's game during a tussle with Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire, reports Jeff Caplan of ESPN.
↵↵At the 9:37 mark of the second period, referee Bennett Salvatore hit Haywood and Stoudemire with a double-technical call away from the ball as they jostled for rebounding position. The play, which you can watch at The Basketball Jones, didn't look serious enough at the time to warrant Salvatore's call, and the league agreed.
↵↵Players receive an automatic one-game suspension upon earning their 16th technical foul. The Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard was the first player this season to have to sit for this reason. Stoudemire, with 15 technicals, is hot on his trail.
