Mavericks Stay Hot, Win 101-93 Over Sixers

It wasn’t a thing of beauty, but a third road win in four days (and 17th win in 18 games) doesn’t have to be. The Mavericks won againagain, this time over a fairly hot (9-4 in their last 13) Sixers team that has itself in playoff position in the East and on a night where the Spurs were blown out by the Bucks. Dallas now trails San Antonio by five and leads the Lakers by three in the loss column. They get two nights off before another brutal five-games-in-seven-days stretch in the run-up to their showdown with LA a week from Saturday.

Jason Terry led the scoring with 30 on a sizzling 13-18 shooting night. Jason Kidd recorded his 107th career triple-double (13-10-13) and added three steals. Dirk Nowitzki turned in another ho-hum 9-14 night for 22. Shawn Marion was the only other Maverick in double-figures (10 and 10).

There was some bad news, as Tyson Chandler went down with a twisted ankle in the second quarter and had to be helped to the locker room. Rick Carlisle offered no prognosis after the game but spoke in terms of “a couple of games” as opposed to a 4-6 week timeframe that serious sprains often last.
