NBA Trade Rumors: Carmelo Anthony Officially A New York Knick

New, 1 comment

It's finally official: Carmelo Anthony is headed to New York as the newest member of the Knicks. The Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks finalized a trade on Monday night sending the superstar to New York, ending months of seemingly endless rumors.

The trade sends Chauncey Billips, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman along with Anthony to New York in exchange for Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Timofey Mozgov, Danilo Gallinari, New York's 2014 first-round pick, Golden State's 2012 second-round pick, and the Warriors' 2013 second rounder pick as well as three million dollars in cash.

The New Jersey Nets are the big loser in this trade, as they had been pinning much of their hopes on acquiring Anthony to help him be the new face of the franchise as the Nets prepare to move to Brooklyn. The Mavericks had been rumored to be a dark horse for Anthony's services, but nothing came to fruition.

The Nets and Mavericks, however, might have something up their sleeve: the two clubs may be discussing a trade that would send Devin Harris back to Dallas.
