Mavericks Vs. Thunder: Dallas Drops Preseason Opener 106-92

Dallas coach Rick Carlisle chose to keep Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd out of the lineup for Sunday's preseason 106-92 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite a late run, the Mavericks couldn't overcome red hot shooting by the Thunder over the second and third quarters. Dallas did however get some nice performances from Rodrique Beaubois and Dominique Jones as well as newcomer Lamar Odom

Beaubois came off the bench to score 17 points on 7-13 shooting including 3-6 from beyond-the-arc. Dominique Jones scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half. Lamar Odom added 14 points in just under 23 minutes.

Kevin Durant scored a game-high 21 points and was in mid-season form in getting to the free throw line where he was 13-14. James Harden chipped in 16 points off the bench while Russell Westbrook and Daequan Cook Each finished with 12 points. Cook was 4-6 from the three-point-line.

The Thunder hit 56 percent of their shots for the game and outscored the Mavs 32-19 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Dallas used a 14-5 run just before halftime to cut the Thunder lead to seven.
