SB Nation's latest batch of NBA power rankings have been released and the Dallas Mavericks continue to rise.
↵Currently riding a nine game winning streak, the Mavericks jumped over the Los Angeles Lakers to take over the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference. Dallas will have an opportunity to extend their winning streak to 12 games this week, playing three games this week starting with the Warriors at home before the Nets and Jazz come to Dallas later this week. The Mavericks will play all of their next six games at home before headed on the road in two weeks to take on LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
↵Much like the standings in the Southwest division reveal, the Mavericks trail only the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference power rankings. The Spurs, of course, lead the Southwest division by a game over the Mavericks, sitting in first place with an impressive 17-3 record.
↵The Lakers, who the Mavericks jumped in this week's rankings, finally snapped their four game losing streak on Friday with a 113-80 thrashing against the Sacramento Kings.
