SB Nation has the latest NBA power rankings out and the Dallas Mavericks have moved up two spots in the Western Conference, from fifth to third. Dallas, of course, is currently riding a six game winning streak. In the process of that winning streak, they've gone into Oklahoma City and San Antonio - snapping the Spurs' 12 game winning streak - and winning in those cities. Dallas also recently defeated the Heat and Rockets at home to bring their winning streak up to six where it currently stands.
↵It's difficult to argue with the teams ahead of the Mavericks. The Spurs with their 14-2 record are ranked as the top team in the Western Conference while the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers, 13-4, are ranked second.
↵The Mavericks return to action tomorrow night when they put their six game winning streak on the line against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home in Dallas. The Mavs will then head out west, taking on Utah on Friday and Sacramento on Saturday.
