NBA 2010: Season Predictions

New, 1 comment

With the NBA season kicking off tonight, we here at SB Nation Dallas-Fort Worth decided to forecast the upcoming NBA Season. Playoff teams, MVPs, Rookie of the year and, of course, the eventual 2010-2011 NBA champion are all predicted by our SB Nation staff.

The NBA season begins tonight with three games set to kick us off. While many have already anointed the Miami Heat 2010-2011 Champions, the season still has to be played and there should be plenty of other storylines around the league other than the Miami Heat. Will New Orleans trade Chris Paul? Will the Nuggets trade Carmelo Anthony? Will a lockout ensue in the 2011-2012 season? Among a myriad of others.

The big story of the off-season was the Miami Heat. They will kickoff the NBA season against the Boston Celtics tonight at 6:30 CT. Will Dwyane Wade, Lebron James and Chris Bosh be enough to bring a title to Miami? Or will Orlando and Dwight Howard remind everyone that they were in the NBA finals just two season ago? The Celtics have formed a deep squad this off-season but age could be a detriment after signing Shaquille and Jermaine O'neal this summer.

In the West, you have the Los Angeles Lakers looking for a three-peat. Will Kobe Bryant and Co. give Phil Jackson one final year for the ages?  Or will Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder assert their status as a perennial powerhouse in the NBA?  The Trailblazers will be looking to exercise  their injury demons.  You have the Mavericks and Spurs trying to hang on to past successes.  New faces Tyson Chandler and Tiago Splitter should give them much needed jolts but the key for each team here lies in Beaubois' left foot and Ginobili's ankle, or nose, or hand...

With that out of the way, here are the official predictions of the 2010-2011 NBA season from the SB Nation Dallas-Fort Worth staff!
