TCU's Ed Wesley, picked up by the Dallas Cowboys after he was not selected in the supplemental draft this, has been waived by the team after showing up significantly late to morning walkthroughs.
With injuries to Philip Tanner and Lance Dunbar, Wesley had the chance to prove himself and move up the depth chart to compete for a back up running back spot with the Cowboys. It was clear, however, that Jamize Olawale had taken control of that spot from Wesley after the former TCU tailback failed to get a carry in last weekend's game against the Oakland Raiders.
Wesley had a successful career with the Horned Frogs, rushing for 2,457 yards and 21 touchdowns in three seasons. Unfortunately, he failed to take advantage of his situation and prove himself during camp. Showing up late for the final walkthrough before a preseason game was the last straw for the Cowboys, who cut the running back almost immediately.
