The NFL's all-time leading rusher and Dallas Cowboys legendary running back Emmitt Smith gave his reaction to the retirement of LaDainian Tomlinson right here.
↵As most Dallas-area folks know, Smith has been a mentor to Tomlinson for quite some time now. Tomlinson, who is retiring Monday as a member of the San Diego Chargers, has idolized Smith since he was kid in Waco watching the Boys' glory years in the 90s.
↵Check out what Smith had to say via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram about surefire Hall Of Fame running back, who he's known since Tomlinson was just 13 years old.
↵"When you know someone when they are very young, and you watch that person grow into being a man and one of the very best to ever play the game, it is inspirational for me personally. He was a pleasure to watch play football. He did it with pride and passion and he was a true professional from his very first day in the NFL. I am extremely honored to know that I have had a positive influence on him. What he accomplished in his career gives me great pride."
