What Do Cowboys Fans Want To See In The Coming Draft?

As writers, we do our best to offer a combination of reported news and informed opinion when speaking about a team that means so much to the readers. We at least owe them that much of a commitment. When we speak of draft prospects and give our take on whether or not they would be better fits than other prospects, you at least would like to know that we don't just pull names out of a hat; that we've read up on the prospect and watched at least a little game tape to support the assessments of others.

Now some fans view the draft process as a stand-alone sport; following prospects year-round. They can rattle off 40 times, the three best games of a player's season and much more. Then there are fans that love to follow the draft but rely on outside sources to bring them the goods on the targets.

Regardless, draft season is fun for most and entertaining for all. I took to the Blogging The Boys Facebook page to gauge whether the casual fan wanted to see Dallas attack the draft looking for improving the offense, or focusing on a defense that finished in the bottom half of the league in 2011. Here are a few of the interesting responses.

Three weeks and a day until the draft; where do you stand? Make the offense elite or focus on improving a bottom half of the league defense?

-- I hope Barron or Cox is the pick. I want DeCastro the most but he isn't realistic :( -K. Forchetti

-- To quote Deion in his infamous commercial... BOTH! -N. Elder

-- Lets go for the best possible player that will help us the most at that particular time in the draft no matter if its defense or offense. We could stand to get on both sides of the ball. -P. Leathermann

-- Because we havnt addressed the D-line in F/A, I'd expect us to go DE/NT in 2 of the 1st 4 rounds this year. We just need a good draft tho & that includes all picks other than the #14 pick...so we can NOT do (for example) an injured OLB & hope to not only get him healthy, but then try to make him an ILB, when theres a Center from Penn St who could play rite away WHEN we have to cut our 5xPro-Bowl Center. -O. Jay
