NFL Draft Rumors: Chargers, Patriots Could Jump Cowboys For Mark Barron

In the last few weeks, seemingly every rumor and mock draft has the Dallas Cowboys looking hard at Alabama SS Mark Barron with their No. 14 overall pick.

However, Dallas isn't the only team eyeing Barron and now there are several reports indicating that the Alabama star may be long gone by the time the Cowboys are on the clock.

According to a report from Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune, San Diego may try to jump from No. 18 to No. 13 and pass the Cowboys. Meanwhile, Tom Curran from CSNNE.com is reporting that the New England Patriots, despite their history of trading down in the draft, may consider moving up in order to grab Barron.

Now that he's fully recovered from a late season injury, Barron has become one of the most talked about prospects in the draft, with NFL.com's Mike Mayock rating him as worthy of a Top 10 selection:

"Barron is one of the best players in this draft and I think he's going to go between 10 and 15," Mayock said in a conference call last week. "... There are other teams that could step up. I mean, look at Buffalo with (No.) 10, for instance. They are going to play New England twice a year with those tight ends."
