Troy Aikman: 'Romo Better Than I Was'

If there's one modern player who understand the media fishbowl Tony Romo is under as QB for America's Team, it's Troy Aikman.

And while Romo doesn't have Aikman's three Super Bowl rings, the Hall of Fame QB and current FOX analyst is still in his corner, telling the Brownsville News-Herald that:

"I think Tony already is a better quarterback than I was. I know how quarterbacks are judged but as far as his play-making ability and the things that he is capable of doing, he is a far more athletic quarterback, capable of making more plays than I ever was able to. He has a good team around him and hopefully, and I believe this will happen, I believe that he will win a Super Bowl before he is done playing."

Romo does have better statistics, and in all likelihood, he'll need to be a better player than Aikman if the Cowboys are going to get back to the Super Bowl.

Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin and Jimmy Johnson aren't walking through that door.
