The Dallas Cowboys are expected to make a run at re-signing wide receiver Laurent Robinson, who spelled Miles Austin during his hamstring injuries for a large amount of the 2011 season. Robinson was an unexpected boost for the Cowboys' offense (11 TDs in 14 games), but because they signed him to a league minimum contract, they'll have to wait until he hits the open market, according to the National Football Post:
The Cowboys can meet with Robinson’s agent Harold Lewis – and the hope is to do just that this week from the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis – but a deal can’t be struck.
"The conversation with him goes more like, ‘What are you thinking and then we’ll think about it,’" Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said, according to Archer.
March 13 is the first official day of free agency in the NFL.
