Cowboys vs. Eagles: Is Andy Reid's job on the line?

Andy Reid's job security could be in jeopardy if the Eagles lose to the Cowboys on Sunday.

It's been a bad season for Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles, and Reid's time as Eagles head coach could come to a close if the team continues to play the way they have for most of this season. In their last loss to the New Orleans Saints, the team suffered seven sacks, more injuries to the offensive line, and a bad performance by the offense in the red zone to end up on the wrong end of a 28-13 defeat.

Reid is reportedly optimistic that the team will be able to turn it around against the Dallas Cowboys over the weekend, but his time is running short to get the team back into winning territory. Before the season, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said that an 8-8 season would not be acceptable.

Reid avoided questions about his job security when asked, instead focusing on keeping the team going forward:

"You focus in on the job at hand, and you don't get past that. So going past and looking at things like records and futures and all those things, I know those are questions you have to ask. I understand that. But when you are in this thing, you are in to practice every day, every play, get yourself better, and there is no time to think about those things."

The Cowboys are also in trouble, with the same 3-5 record as Philly. If they take down their division rival on Sunday, they will be right back in the thick of things in the NFC East, while helping to make the seat under Andy Reid quite a bit hotter.
