Cowboys vs. Falcons score update: Game remains tied after 3 quarters

The Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons remain tied, 6-6, after a third quarter that saw the Falcons gain momentum on the Cowboys.

The Cowboys offense found a bit of life in the third quarter but continued to come up short once inside Falcons territory. Atlanta, held mostly in check for most of the game, started to move the ball in the third quarter as the Falcons have now outgained the Cowboys by a substantial, 320- to 233-yard margin.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is 14-of-23 for 174 yards and no touchdowns as the Cowboys offense has been forced to play underneath for most of the game. The Cowboys running game seemed to pick up a bit in the third quarter, although each Cowboys drive would stall outside field goal range.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan started to find some space against the Cowboys defense, and is 17-of-24 for 237 yards in the game. Running back Michael Turner had 67 yards on 12 carries and no touchdowns, with most of that coming on a 43-yard scamper near the end of the third quarter.
