Cowboys vs. Falcons score update: Dallas leading 6-0 after 1st quarter

Thanks to a few big plays on offense and special teams, the Dallas Cowboys have built a 6-0 lead over the Atlanta Falcons through one quarter on Sunday night.

The Cowboys defense has stood tall against the stout Falcons offensive attack, forcing a three-and-out on the game's first possession that led to a 37-yard punt return by Dwayne Harris. The Cowboys were able to move the ball to get within striking distance of the end zone but had to settle for a 23-yard field goal by Dan Bailey.

The Falcons would move the ball easily on the next drive but stalled inside Cowboys territory, with the usually reliable Matt Bryant missing wide from 37 yards out. Tony Romo and the Cowboys would take advantage on the next drive, with the Cowboys quarterback connecting with Kevin Ogletree on a 65-yard bomb on third down. The Cowboys would fail to convert in the red zone once more, however, with Bailey's 32-yard field goal giving the Cowboys a 6-0 lead late in the quarter.

Romo is 4-of-9 for 88 yards an no touchdowns and Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan is 5-of-8 for 91 yards, as the Cowboys and Falcons both gained 96 yards of offense in the first 15 minutes.
