NFL odds and lines Week 12: Redskins vs. Cowboys

The Cowboys opened up as 6-point favorites for Thursday's game against the Redskins. That line didn't stay for long, as it went down to 3.5 after bettors smartly realized how inconsistent Dallas can be.

The Dallas Cowboys are 3.5-point favorites over the Washington Redskins for the NFC East rivals' Week 12 game, according to OddsShark.com.

The line opened at -6, but bettors perhaps wisely took into consideration Dallas' penchant for inconsistent performances, lowering the point spread to its current figure in the process. Only two of the Cowboys' wins have come by more than six points, and they recently followed up an impressive performance on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles by nearly losing at home to the lowly Cleveland Browns.

Washington just broke a three-game losing streak with a dominating performance of its own against the Eagles. The Redskins tend to keep games close, with just three of their 10 contests being separated by more than one score.

The over/under is set at 48, a number that, on average, the Cowboys and their opponents do not reach. However, the Redskins and their foes have combined to score more than 51 points per game.

The Cowboys and Redskins will kick off at 3:15 p.m. CT on Thanksgiving Day.
