The Dallas Cowboys have been underachieving this season, as they sit with a 3-4 record. Their defense has not really been the issue as they are second in the league in total yards allowed.
Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is particularly fond of his defense, and feels that the unit is special. He also gives credit to the defensive staff by saying it is the best that he has ever been a part of.
Ryan is so confident that he is predicting a win over the undefeated Atlanta Falcons this Sunday night:
"We need to win now," Ryan said. "That's what we're going to do. I know the record is not what we want it to be, but the ball is bouncing strange ways. When that thing starts evening out, we're going to be great, and we're going to keep playing. We've got to win this week, and we know it, and we're going to."
While Ryan is confident that the Cowboys will pull off the upset, it may not have been the smartest idea to share these comments publicly.
The Falcons offense is only 12th in total yards, but starting quarterback Matt Ryan is having a very good year, and likely will take exception to Ryan's comments.
Ryan is known for making bold predictions; last year he said that the Cowboys were going to defeat the New York Giants in the season finale and win the NFC East, but that obviously did not happen.
So, we will wait to see how this latest prediction turns out on Sunday.
