Dez Bryant misses practice, now listed as questionable

Dez Bryant missed practice and is now questionable for the Cowboys' clash with the Panthers on Sunday.

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

There were no indications during the week that Dez Bryant was fighting injury, but he missed practice on Friday because of a groin injury. He is now questionable for the Dallas Cowboys' game this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

At 2-3 and in last place in the NFC East, the Cowboys desperately need to win this Sunday against the lowly Panthers, who are 1-4. Dallas is coming off of a tough loss to Baltimore and Carolina looked sluggish in a 16-12 loss to Seattle last week so neither team is flying high at the moment.

Defending the pass is actually one of the things that Carolina does pretty well, ranking eighth in the NFL in pass defense so Dallas could sure use Bryant. While inconsistent and sometimes maddening, Bryant's talent is undeniable and he gives Tony Romo an explosive option that pairs well with Miles Austin.

If Bryant cannot play, Kevin Ogletree would likely start in his place.
