Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones had the best game of the early 2012 season on Sunday, during Dallas' Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Jones ran the ball 18 times for 92 yards, including an impressive 22 yard touchdown run in the first quarter, marking the first time Jones scored a touchdown since the first game of the 2011 season. More importantly, though, Jones showed an excellent burst, especially on his 22 yard touchdown run. Jones had looked lethargic in his limited playing time in recent weeks.
Jones credited his good game to his offensive line.
"I have to give it up to the offensive line, they did a great job of providing lanes for all the runners and we have to hit it full speed," Jones said. "It's disappointing (to lose), but we did a lot of great things. We fought back and we continued to fight until the last second."
Jones also added one reception for 13 yards in the 31-29 loss.
Jones could end up having a large role in Dallas' Week 7 contest against the Carolina Panthers. Starting running back DeMarco Murray injured his foot early in the second half against the Ravens, and even though X-rays came back negative, the extent of Murray's injury is still unknown.
