Jerry Jones spoke of coaching staff changes last week, and the first domino has fallen: Dave Campo will not return to Jason Garrett's staff in 2012.
Campo served as Dallas' secondary coach from 2008-2011. Dallas' secondary was certainly a weak link in 2011, as the Cowboys allowed just over 244 yards per game passing, ranking in the bottom half of the league. While Campo didn't have much to work with in the secondary in terms of talent, he is being held responsible for Dallas' inability to adequately defend the pass.
Calvin Watkins tweeted on Sunday that Rob Ryan wanted to hire his own defensive coaching staff, and to expect change at secondary coach. However, Tim MacMahon said on Monday that the rest of Dallas' defensive coaching staff is going to remain intact.
Hopefully for Dallas fans, this is the first of many changes to come in the secondary. The pressure is also on Rob Ryan to have his staff fix Dallas' secondary throughout an entire offseason.
