Most of the prior 2012 NFL mock drafts had the Dallas Cowboys taking Nebraska cornerback Alfonzo Dennard with their No. 14 pick. However, SB Nation's latest mock draft has them selecting Janoris Jenkins out of North Alabama:
A misdemeanor arrest for marijuana got Jenkins exiled from Florida. He opted for obscurity in Northern Alabama, rather than a middle round pick in the supplemental NFL Draft. Most NFL teams shy away from a player who gets caught dabbling in the green stuff; they'll miss out on a talented cornerback. Dallas needs a cornerback so they can finally rid themselves of Terrance Newman.
This past season Jenkins had two interceptions, broke up four passes, recovered a fumble for a touchdowns, recorded 53 tackles with four for a loss. Jenkins also is a versatile player where in addition to his cornerback skills he was the teams primary return man and scored three touchdowns on punt returns.
