NFC Playoff Picture: The Winner Of The NFC East First Round Matchup Still In The Air

The Dallas Cowboys will face off with the New York Giants with their playoff destiny in the balance.

This much we know going into the final weekend of the regular season. The winner on Sunday's contest between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants will be NFC East champs and a No. 4 seed in the playoffs. Who will they face? That answer is still up in the air.

The Detroit Lions are currently the No. 5 seed at 10-5, and with a win versus a Green Bay Packers squad who could be looking to rest a few key players, would secure their ranking.

If the Lions lose, and the Atlanta Falcons defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers then the Falcons could leap the Lions for the No. 5 spot.

Dallas lost to Detroit in a memorable 34-30 contest back in Week 4 as the Cowboys gave up 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter as turnovers marred the Cowboys strong performance thru three quarters.

The Cowboys last faced the Falcons in 2009, with a 37-21 victory in Atlanta.
