The NFL has announced the opening week’s officiating assignments, and Alberto Riveron and his crew get the Cowboys vs. Jets in New Jersey. Riveron’s crew wasn’t too kind to the Cowboys last season, as Todd Archer notes.
Riveron had only one Cowboys’ game last year, Dec. 19 vs. Washington at Cowboys Stadium. The Cowboys were penalized nine times for 70 yards, a high in flags and yards in the eight games during Jason Garrett’s interim run.
Dallas was among the league leaders in penalties per game last season, at 6.8.
