Asomugha Spurns Cowboys, Will Sign With Eagles

Nnamdi Asomugha is going to be wearing green after all - just not Gang Green. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles have swooped in and will sign the free agent cornerback, as both the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys are out of the Asomugha sweepstakes.

It's an unfortunate twist of events for the Cowboys and their fans, as not long ago the Jets filed that they were out on Asomugha, putting the Cowboys in the front seat to sign him. It didn't take long for a mystery team to swoop in - not unlike what happened with Cliff Lee and the Texas Rangers this past winter - and woo Asomugha. Once again, it's a team in Philadelphia - and unfortunately for the Cowboys, it's one of their biggest rivals in the form of the Eagles.

Philadelphia will now be seen as a legitimate Super Bowl threat once again, and the spotlight will be even brighter on quarterback Michael Vick in Philadelphia as expectations continue to pile up in the City of Brotherly Love.
