After Marc Colombo’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, told reporters early Tuesday that the Cowboys would be releasing Colombo, word came later in the day that the club has decided to try to work out a compromise with the tackle.

The obvious connection here is that negotiations with Doug Free may not be going as well as expected. Colombo could have also surprised the Cowboys with his willingness to redo his deal. Cowboys fans will certainly hope for the latter, as Free figures to be the club’s top free agency priority.
