Cowboys Draft Pick Bruce Carter Loves His McDonalds

Bruce Carter is quite the physical specimen, with 4.4 speed, a vertical leap over 40 inches, and a 440 lb. bench press on a chiseled linebacker frame, but he didn’t achieve that by eating a high quality diet. You may remember this story from last summer, when Carter led ESPN.com’s “freaks” list.

“How strict are you about diet?” I asked.

“Well, not very. I eat a lot of McDonald’s and fast foods, but I do work out real hard.”

“Like how much McDonald’s?”

“Almost every day. I usually get three double cheeseburgers, medium fries, large tea and a six-piece McNuggets. I don’t think eating healthy as far as eating salads and that stuff really works for me.”

Carter said during his introduction at Valley Ranch that he has an extremely high metabolism that allows him to eat virtually whatever he wants. It’s probably not a concern now, but as most of us know, metabolisms often change with age – even in your 20’s.
