Round 2 Mock Draft: SB Nation Projects Aaron Williams To Cowboys

Brian Galliford of SB Nation has a fresh second round mock draft for us, and he projects a familiar name to the Cowboys at No. 40.

40. Dallas Cowboys: Aaron Williams, CB, Texas. Dallas needs help in the secondary. Williams is a big, physical kid with ball skills, and could conceivably play corner or safety.

I’m a fan of this idea because I think that Williams is going to be a quality corner in the league and will match up well with bigger receivers. Additionally, Jerry Jones wants his second rounder on the field quickly, and Williams is physical enough to contribute as a free safety type if Rob Ryan feels good enough about Mike Jenkins and the aging Terence Newman at the starting corner spots.

Andy Dalton and Da’Quan Bowers are the two biggest names to watch this evening, as Dalton was thought by many to be likely to go in the middle of round one on Thursday, and Bowers, injury problems aside, is a top five talent. They are projected at Nos. 35 and 37 respectively here.
