NFL Draft 2011: Cowboys Will Not Pick Tyron Smith, Says Matt Mosley

Matt Mosley, formerly of the Dallas Morning News and ESPN.com and now writing for FoxSportsSouthwest.com, has been burning up the phone lines with his connections at Valley Ranch and said Monday while visiting with ESPN 103.3 that he is certain that the Cowboys will not select Tyron Smith with the ninth overall pick.

“After multiple conversations [Sunday] I am convinced that the Cowboys don’t think there’s that much difference between [Anthony] Castonzo, Nate Solder and Smith. They think those tackles are right there close together.”

Mosley said that he expects the Cowboys to trade down from their ninth slot and that they like J.J. Watt and also have interest in Cam Jordan and Prince Amukamara if they move down. He added that Amukamara is still a name in play for Dallas at nine. He also tweeted Monday that they will not pick Nick Fairley.

Mosley suggested that the Cowboys could trade as far down as 17 or 18 and that they would prefer to pick somewhere in the teens.
