2011 NFL Mock Draft: Dallas Cowboys Still Projected To Take Prince Amukamara

The latest and greatest 2011 NFL Mock Draft is up over at SB Nation, and the Dallas Cowboys are projected to take Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara with the ninth overall pick.

9. Dallas Cowboys: Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska. The Cowboys' needs don't match up with talent at the top of the draft that's likely to be available; the one exception is Amukamara, who is likely to grade out highly on secondary-starved Dallas' big board. Cornerback is a big need for this team.

This is pretty consistent with previous mock drafts over at SB Nation which had Dallas selecting Amukamara with the ninth overall pick. Mel Kiper's mock draft a few weeks ago also had the Cowboys selecting the cornerback currently known as Prince, so there seems to be some prevailing sentiment that Dallas is going to take Amukamara with the ninth overall selection - at this point, at least. A lot can change still between now and April 28th, but as of today, Dallas is projected to bolster their secondary.

Interestingly, at the top of the latest mock draft, Cam Newton is slated to go first overall to Carolina. If for nothing else, it shows how volatile this draft could end up being with prospects' stock jumping up and down.
