For the third straight week, the folks over at SB Nation are projecting a different player to be selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the ninth overall pick in next month's NFL Draft.
For quite awhile, it seemed like Prince Amukamara was going to fall to the Cowboys, but his stock has improved and it looks as though he'll be off the board by the time Dallas picks. Last week, SB Nation projected Dallas to take Robert Quinn of North Carolina. This week? Offensive lineman Tyron Smith of USC.
9. Dallas Cowboys: Tyron Smith, OT, USC. The more time passes pre-draft, the more this Smith-to-Dallas idea makes sense. Smith is awfully unproven in that it's not yet clear he'll be able to sustain his weight, but he's also awfully talented - and Dallas has a need at tackle.
ESPN's Todd McShay also is projecting Smith to be taken by the Cowboys. Smith is considered a raw prospect, but has tremendous upside and figures to be the first offensive lineman taken in the 2011 NFL Draft.
