The Cowboys haven’t been able to get out of their own way, but they still lead the Cardinals 10-3 at the half. Dallas converted just one third down all half – and that was just before half – and could not sustain promising drives. They wasted a drive that began at the Arizona 35 and entered plus territory two other times before hitting paydirt on a Tony Romo to Dez Bryant 15-yard strike midway through the second quarter.
The Cardinals started drives at or inside their 20 on five of six drives, but converted for a field goal after Dan Bailey missed a 54-yard field goal attempt. Arizona has just 49 yards of offense and three first downs for the half, as the Dallas defense has slowed Beanie Wells to 11 yards on seven carries. Kevin Kolb has completed 7 of 11, but he’s been sacked four times and is only gaining 4.0 yards per attempt.
Romo is 11-20 for 135 yards, while Felix Jones and DeMarco Murray have combined for 13 carries for 48 yards. Neither team has turned the ball over, and Mat McBriar has kept the ball away from Patrick Paterson on three punts.
Halftime score: Cowboys 10, Cardinals 3
