The Dallas Cowboys have had a season of extreme ups and downs. Heading into the final week of the 2011 NFL regular season, they have one final opponent standing between them and a postseason berth. In Week 17, they will visit division rivals the New York Giants. The winner of that final game will take the NFC East and head to the playoffs. The loser will head home.

The SB Nation Week 17 power rankings are out and both teams are once again tied together. Joel Thorman explains how, as in the official standings, so too does the Week 17 outcome affect the rankings of the Giants and the Cowboys.

11. New York Giants (8-7, LW: 15): The Giants and Cowboys' game next week will be the game of the week -- win and you're in.

12. Dallas Cowboys (8-7, LW: 13): See above.

The two teams are just a few weeks removed from their last game against one another. Dallas hosted that one and came up on the losing end, 37-34.
