When things aren't going well on the field, life between media members and football players and coaches often turns sour. Thursday in Dallas it turned violent, as Calvin Watkins and Jay Ratliff had to be separated by bystanders after Watkins' line of questioning - which began with Sam Hurd - angered Ratliff. Hurd appeared in federal court Thursday on cocaine and pot trafficking charges. Watkins tweeted about the incident afterward:

Had a confrontation with a player today I shouldn't have let escalate. I regret not walking away. onward to Saturday in Tampa.
Ratliff has had a history of testiness and suspicion with the Dallas media, so it's not too surprising that a disappointing story involving a friend during a hard week brought out his worst reaction. Considering that he's getting on a plane tomorrow for a must-win game, he might want to focus on his job, though.
