It was an inauspicious starts for the Dallas Cowboy's offense but they were able to get things together late and lead the New York Giants 7-5 at the end of the first quarter.
Dallas' second drive of the game began deep in their own territory and it didn't last long. On second down, quarterback Tony Romo tried to avoid a Giants defensive lineman only to stumble into his own end zone for a safety and a 2-0 Giants lead. After the free kick, Eli Manning hooked up with Hakeem Nicks for a 64 yard gain. The Cowboys defense would hold the Giants to a field goal and a 5-0 lead.
Dallas got things rolling on their third drive with an eight play, 80 yard drive that resulted in a Tony Romo touchdown pass to John Phillips to give the Cowboys the lead at 7-5.
The Dallas defense is going to have to figure out a way to slow down Nicks who went over 100 yards in the first quarter with four catches for 105 yards.
