Jason Witten Is Wise, Jason Garrett Isn't Popular

The Sporting News polled over 100 current NFL players, asking them a series of questions regarding the 2011 NFL season. One of the questions included in the poll asked the players which NFL coach they would like to play for -- and they couldn't vote for their own coach.

Jason Witten proved that he is wise with his response.

"Being a fan of the game, you respect what Bill Belichick has done. You would be fortunate to play for a guy like that. Anybody who has had the success that he has had ... as a player, you would love to soak up that knowledge."-Cowboys TE Jason Witten

You'd think most players would at the least pick Belichick over Rex Ryan, but Ryan actually was tied atop the poll with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, both receiving 22 votes.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett did not receive more than a single vote. But there's really no reason for Garrett to be popular among players throughout the league yet, so it's not really indicative of anything, except maybe that players are creeped out by red hair. I mean, even Norv Turner received two votes. Enough said.
