2011 NFL Mock Draft: SB Nation Projects Prince Amukamara To Cowboys

Well this would be a nice development, thanks in part to Cam Newton (#8 to Tennessee) and Julio Jones rising in their mock draft, SB Nation now projects Nebraska corner Prince Amukamara to the Cowboys at number nine. Their comment:

9. Dallas Cowboys (6-10): Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska. Should the first eight picks occur in this fashion, Dallas would have a very easy decision to make. Terence Newman will be 33 by the time the 2011 season begins, Mike Jenkins suffered through a rather horrid 2010 season, and Amukamara is the best prospect remaining on the board.

As things sit now, this seems like a dream scenario for Dallas. As mentioned, they have corner issues on their roster, and Rob Ryan could presumably use high end cover guys.

The mock draft bumps Nick Fairley up to the top spot, after his strong performance in the national championship game. Mark Ingram also rose, as he now sits in the #15 slot to Miami. Prior to Ingram, the draft is all front seven, corners, receivers and QBs (Blaine Gabbert is projected #10 to Washington).
