Adam Schefter says it's pretty close:

Dallas plans to hire Rob Ryan as its defensive coordinator. Cowboys play at Jets next year, which means Rob Ryan at Rex Ryan.

This makes me very happy. On paper, the Browns and Raiders defenses under Ryan haven't been particularly efficient, but they also have never been particularly poor, and he hasn't usually had much talent, I don't think. He'll have to do something about the Cowboys' secondary, but I'm really excited to see what someone in the Ryan family can do with the Dallas front seven.

Further, this should be a natural fit. Wade Phillips was a Buddy Ryan disciple, and Rob Ryan is a Buddy Ryan offspring. Shouldn't be a whole lot of retooling necessary on the defense scheme and talent wise.

I'm also really liking seeing actual coaches with backbones being put in place. That's a good sign, at least.
