Jerry Jones: Marion Barber Will Remain With Team Past 2010, Felix Jones May Start Sunday

New, 2 comments

Despite the fact that the last three years on Marion Barber’s 7 year, $45 million contract will be absurdly over-market value, Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones insists that Barber will remain with the club.

“I know certainly he’s got critics but I wouldn’t go that far in any way to say his time is done with the Cowboys,” Jones said.

Jones has bristled at persistent suggestions from media and fans that his favored starter should see his role reduced and that third-string backup Tashard Choice should see more carries. Jones was critical of Choice earlier in the week, saying that he didn’t deserve more carries until he improved his special teams play.

Meanwhile, with Barber listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup in Indianapolis, Felix Jones is preparing to start another game.
