Cowboys Vs. Redskins: Grossman Intercepted By Newman Ends Redskins Comeback

Rex Grossman’s second interception of the day ended the Redskins comeback attempt in the fourth quarter as Dallas hangs on to defeat Washington 33-30.

The Redskins tied the game on a pair of Grossman touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. Grossman connected with Santana Moss on a six-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth. Washington went for the two-point conversion and succeeded on a Grossman to Cooley pass, bringing the Redskins to within eight.

Washington tied the game with 7:37 to go on Grossman to Cooley touchdown pass from five yards out. The Redskins converted the two-point conversion on a pass to Mike Sellers.

The Redskins, however, could not take the lead. Dallas regained the lead on David Buehler’s fourth field goal of the game – from 39 yards out, giving Dallas a 33-30 lead with 50 seconds remaining.

With the Redskins looking to tie the game or take the lead in the waning moments of the game, Grossman threw his second interception – this one to Terrance Newman, as the Cowboys hang on to defeat the Redskins 33-30.
