For many leagues, the upcoming Week 13 is the last week of the fantasy regular season. Some of you may have already clinched your playoff spot and first round bye while others have had their season over for weeks already. Many of you, however, are probably like me - fighting for a playoff spot, needing to win this week and some help from others in the standings.
↵There's still help to be found on the waiver wire this week. The obvious pickup this week is Brian Westbrook. Frank Gore is now out for the season with a hip injury, which means Westbrook will be in line to see an increase in carries, much like he did last night in San Francisco's win over Arizona. Westbrook should be added in all leagues after running for nearly 140 yards and a touchdown last night. The Niners don't have an easy match up in Green Bay this weekend, but the Packers defense does allow over 110 yards of rushing on average per game while their Week 14 foe, the Seahawks, allow nearly 120 on the ground per game.
↵A good fall back option to Westbrook on the waiver wire this week is Tashard Choice. I had expected Choice's role to increase after Wade Phillips was fired a few weeks ago but it hasn't. That is going to change in the next two weeks thanks to Marion Barber's calf injury. Choice only has 14 carries on the season but he's worth a gamble as his role will almost certainly increase with Barber's absence. Choice won't likely take carries away from Felix Jones, but he does look ready to step into Barber's role for at least the next week.
