NFL Power Rankings Week 12: Cowboys Up To 24, Patriots Remain No. 1

The latest NFL Power Rankings are out over at SB Nation and the Dallas Cowboys continue to rise in the rankings. Coming off their second straight win, making them 2-0 in the Jason Garrett era, the Cowboys moved up from 27th to 24th. While it's hardly anything to write home about, it's encouraging to see the team respond and play better football under the interim head coach.

Garrett and the Cowboys will have their work cut out for them if they want to continue to rise through the rankings this week. Dallas hosts the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving Day this Thursday which, to me, is the most difficult game Garrett has had to prepare for since taking over.

For the first time in what feels like awhile, there is no change atop the rankings as the New England Patriots remained the No. 1 team in the power rankings, coming off of back-to-back wins in Pittsburgh and at home against Indianapolis. The Patriots will head to Detroit to take on the Lions on Thanksgiving Day.

The NFC did place three teams in the top five this week. The Packers were ranked second followed by the Falcons at No. 3 before an AFC team in the Jets interrupts the streak of NFC teams at No. 4. The Eagles are the NFC East's highest team, ranked at No. 5 this week.
