Two teams with identical 2-7 records meet this coming Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys host the Detroit Lions. After an unbelievably disappointing start to the year, the Cowboys fired Wade Phillips, named Jason Garrett the interim head coach, and then promptly went out and defeated the red-hot New York Giants at the Meadowlands in Garrett's first game at the helm. Now the Cowboys looks to remain on the path back to respectability against the visiting Detroit Lions, who last week set an NFL road futility mark with their 25 consecutive defeat away from home.
Here's a few trends, figures and notes on the two teams' series history, as well as up-to-date season stats for both squads.
