SB Nation released its latest batch of NFL power rankings and for the first time in quite awhile, the Dallas Cowboys moved up in the rankings.
↵Dallas was ranked 31st headed into its bout against the Giants and were nearly two-touchdown underdogs headed into the New Meadowlands Stadium. Jason Garrett had his team ready to play and the Cowboys surprised most with a 13-point victory against the New York football Giants.
↵The win carried the Cowboys up to 27th in the latest incarnation of the rankings. Dallas jumped ahead of Arizona, Detroit, Cincinnati and the previously winless Bills. The Carolina Panthers remain last in the rankings.
↵There was a shakeup at the top of the rankings as well. New England wrestled the top spot back following its dismantling of the Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Baltimore, the previous No. 1, fell to seventh following its loss in Atlanta.
↵The top five contains three NFC teams. The Eagles, behind Michael Vick's ridiculous performance, are fifth, the Falcons are third and the Packers are second. The Jets are fourth and the Patriots are, of course, first to round out the top five.
↵The Cowboys will have a chance to climb up further in the rankings as they look for their first home win this weekend against the Detroit Lions.
