Tony Romo’s broken bone wasn’t the only injury trouble for the Cowboys on Monday night. Terence Newman was hurt in what was reported as an issue with cartilage in his rib cage after his return of a first quarter interception and played through pain the rest of the way.
Newman had a CT scan Tuesday and has been diagnosed with a rib muscle injury but should play Sunday.
Montrae Holland suffered a groin strain and left the game but is also expected to be ready for next week. Kyle Kosier, the man he’s relieving, is not expected to be healthy for that game, but Todd Archer has this update.
Kyle Kosier, the starter, said he would be back for the Jaguars’ game, but he was still in a walking boot on Monday. If he and Holland can’t play, then the Cowboys could go with undrafted rookie Phil Costa.
Jason Hatcher also strained his groin, but in a more serious fashion. He is expected to miss four to six weeks.
