NFL Power Rankings Week 8: Cowboys Continue Freefall Without Romo

SB Nation's latest and greatest NFL Power Rankings have been released. As expected, the Dallas Cowboys fell even further from the power rankings. Last week, Dallas came in ranked 25th - something that would have been almost inconceivable headed into the season.

Dallas fell further this week, all the way to 28th following their 41-35 loss to the Giants on Monday Night Football. The fall to 1-5 would have been damning enough for the Cowboys but the real loss was to quarterback Tony Romo, who may be out for the remainder of the season with a broken collarbone. It might be the right year to be at the bottom of the rankings with a new rookie pay scale on the horizon with a new collective bargaining agreement necessary.

The only teams that were ranked worse than Dallas? The Lions, Broncos, Bills and 49ers - a true collection of football ineptitude in 2010.

↵

The top seven teams all come from the AFC with the Jets taking the top spot followed by New England and Pittsburgh. The New York Giants are the highest ranked NFC team at No. 8, followed by the Falcons and Saints

We'll see if Jon Kitna can lead Dallas up these rankings but at this point it's basically time to root for draft position.
