The Baylor Bears cruised through their first game of the 2012 NCAA season on Sept. 2 when SMU headed to Waco and got beat by a score of 59-24. Now, Nick Florence and the Bears will have an even easier opponent to face in their second game as they host FCS school Sam Houston State. The Bearkats will be the second of three opponents the Bears will face in anticipation of conference play beginning on Sept. 29.
Sam Houston won their first game of the season, a 54-7 rolling over of Incarnate Word. They are led by RB Timothy Flanders, who rushed for two touchdowns in the 54-7 beatdown. Still, they should pose little threat to a Baylor team running on all cylinders after their win over SMU.
Baylor crushed Sam Houston State the last time that the two teams met in 2010, as Robert Griffin III helped lead the Bears to a 34-3 victory.
