It's still all coming up roses for Baylor's Robert Griffin III, as his meteoric ascent to the top of sports world has shown no signs of slowing down in his early time with the Washington Redskins.
↵In Washington's first preseason game, RG3 made his NFL debut, throwing 4-for-6 for for 70 yards and 1 TD against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night.
↵After the game, he stuck with the boilerplate commentary, a wise decision given his pristine public image:
↵↵↵"It felt really good," said Griffin of his debut. "To put points on the board is great, makes me feel good and keeps the team confident. ... I feel like I played extremely well in the limited time I had."
↵
However, to mix some metaphors, no love affair lasts forever and RG3 will soon feel the weight that comes from playing QB in the NFL. At some point, he'll struggle and the critics will come out, because that's just how the world works in the 21rst century.
↵But for now, the biggest star in Baylor history continues to shine bright on the national stage.
